Think Globally Act Locally...

...An adage that is rarely taken seriously. How can you expect to change the world when you do nothing to help those around you. I'm saying this because one of the local radio stations (96X) had a contest that offered 20 thousand dollars to anyone that could bring Brad Pitt in for an interview (He's filming a "Jesse James" movie at Fort Edmonton Park). It caused an uproar and was deemed to dangerous. So the folks in charge decided to donate it to the Hurricane Katrina relief fund. A noble cause, no doubt. And by saying this I am in no way trying to diminish the tragedy of what has happened. I am only saying why not give some of that money to the Youth Emergency Centre, they could use any help they could get. Or how about the Battered Women's Shelter. All I'm saying is there are causes in our own back yards that are worth taking notice of.
